1. The Sacred Water Blessing
A Ritual of Purification & Peace
Step away from the tourist trails and into the quiet sanctuary of a local pagoda.
This intimate experience is built on our personal relationships with the local monkhood, ensuring your blessing is conducted with the utmost respect and spiritual authenticity.

The Experience: As you sit in quiet contemplation, a monk performs a traditional blessing, chanting ancient sutras as cascading, scented water washes away the past and invites new beginnings.

The Imagery: We capture the raw, cinematic energy of the water and the vibrant contrast of saffron robes against stone—moments of pure, unscripted emotion.

The Details: We handle all coordination and advise on traditional offerings. Due to the nature of the ritual, we provide full guidance on etiquette, modesty, and the necessary preparations for a “very wet” but beautiful session.
The Water Blessing:
Preparation & Etiquette
A sacred ritual for new beginnings. To ensure a respectful experience, please follow these simple guidelines.
1. Attire & Essentials

The Temple Rule: Shoulders and knees must remain covered (a T-shirt and sarong or light trousers are ideal).

Stay Prepared: You will be 100% soaked. Bring a full change of dry clothes (including undergarments) and a large towel.
2. Respect & Tradition

Footwear: Always remove your shoes and hat before entering the blessing area.

The Greeting: We will guide you in the “Sompiah” (a traditional bow with palms together) to greet the monk.

Body Language: Avoid pointing your feet toward the monk or Buddha statues; we will help position you correctly.
3. The Offering

In Khmer culture, monks do not charge for blessings. It is customary to provide a “Prachum” (Offering) of $10/15 per person. We will provide an envelope and assist you in presenting this respectfully at the end of the ceremony.
4. Be Present

Focus on the chanting and the cool water. Because we personally know our monk partners, we can navigate the space discreetly to capture the magic while you remain in the moment

We manage every detail of this full-scale production, coordinating expert stylists and authentic traditional dress to place you at the very heart of Angkor’s history.
Please note that Heritage Portraits are an exclusive add-on available to our Solo, Couple, and Family photoshoot clients. Due to the coordination required with our tailors and stylists, we recommend booking this experience at least 7 days in advance.
